Question:

I inadvertantly downloaded “Blekko” aka “My start” which has attached itself to the IE browser start tab. It seems to be a Java script app. I don’t want it on my computer but can’t find a way to get rid of it. I’m running Windows 7.

Nalosin :

I will do my best to help with your question

Nalosin :

Do you have Internet Explorer 9?

Yes, I think so it’s a new dell desk top.

Nalosin :

Ok. Please do this:

Nalosin :

In Internet Explorer click on screw icon in top-right corner of it and then open Internet Options

Nalosin :

open Programs tab

Nalosin :

there click on Manage Add-ons

Nalosin :

in the window that will open find My Start, select it and click on “Disable” button

I don’t see a screw icon. I see a gear icon that says tools.

Nalosin :

ok. click on Tools -> Internet Options

Nalosin :

then Programs tab and click Manage Add-ons

Nalosin :

in new Window that will open search for My Start in the list (or Blekko) select it and click on Disable button

Found Blekko, says Enabled, don’t see a Disable button. There is a remove button near bottom of window

Nalosin :

Ok. Even better

Nalosin :

click on Remove button

It seemed to work. But I won’t really know until I close and restart IE.

Nalosin :

Ok. Please restart IE, then open this page from your email address. Or you can also add this page to Favorites

Nalosin :
